LOCATION AND HISTORY
The farm is run by a foundation within the Church of Sweden in Västerås diocese, which includes Västmanland and Dalarna. Sundborn is quite centrally located in this area, so no matter where in the diocese or for that matter in Gästrikland, Uppland, Stockholm, Södermanland or Närke you live, it is relatively close. Sundbornsgården was built in 1766 and until the 1960s was a vicarage and residence for the parish priest in Sundborn. In 1960, the shepherd moved to the new parsonage by the church and the farm was equipped to become a camp farm and relieve the diocesan farm in Rättvik with confirmation camps. Since then, confirmation camps have been held on the farm every summer and the farm is booked almost every weekend for groups of various kinds.
PLANT
The farm offers full board with simpler accommodation in multi-bed rooms for groups of up to 50 people with a shower in a separate building. We have tried to maintain and maintain the old vicarage environment. The farm has a full-time housewife who, among other things, takes care of the food. The main task of the farm is to be a resource for church youth activities, but we would like to see adult groups also come to us, for example work teams, sewing associations and church councils.
